Attributed to Giovanni Pistucci, Naples, ca. 1900
I have owned this violin since 1966. My parents purchased it from my violin teacher who believed it was made by a member of the Gagliano family. Further research indicates that it is from that school, but later. Rich reddish brown varnish over highly figured maple. Tonally, it has a deep lower register, but with fine carrying power.
