​This violin is modeled after a 1742 Guarneri and has a fraternal twin made of wood from the same maple tree but in a Stradivari pattern.  The tone is typical for Guarneri: bright overall with a gutsy lower register and brilliant E string.  Asking: $18,000.  Discount available for the Strad/Del Gesu pair.
